All About Beads Facebook Page
This is my first voyage into the Facebook world to acquaint everyone with my beading passion.  Spring has definitely sprung in the beautiful Skagit Valley.  The tulips are in bloom, the grass is bright green, and the birds are in full song.  Each day brings more inspiration and has spurred me on to create more and more new pieces.  I will be showing my new pieces this coming Saturday, April 16 between 9-2 at the Spring Bazaar at Greenwood Tree Coop school.  The address is 208 Snoqualmie Street in Mount Vernon, WA.

How “All About Beads” Came To Be
Since I’m new to the world of blogging, I thought I’d introduce myself; my name is Gail Thein – owner/creator of All About Beads.
Like most people I have had a few other occupations along the way before I settled on my current venture. I was a cytotechnologist, realtor, and paralegal.

As a cytotech, I had a rewarding job of using a microscope to meticulously screen slides for cancer cells.  This led me to become the lab supervisor in a large Connecticut teaching hospital.

Then I moved to Alaska in 1980, where I continued my career as a Cytotechnologist, living in the Alaska’s largest populated city of Anchorage for 26 years, and I loved it immensely.

My cytotechnologist position in Anchorage was only part-time, so I decided to use my talents elsewhere and I became a realtor.

That was until the market crashed and I returned to school to become a paralegal.

After earning my degree, I worked for an Anchorage law firm for twenty years.

Since my careers have always demanded accuracy and attention to detail, a co-worker suggested that I might enjoy taking a beading class.
I took one class and I was hooked, finding the passion in creating quality handmade necklaces, beaded bracelets, and more.  That leap into the unknown was over sixteen years ago.

In 2006, my family and I relocated to the beautiful Skagit Valley in the state of Washington, where I have continued my love of beads, concentrating often on seed beads.

In my opinion, the smaller the bead the better for the design and “vibrant color” is my middle name.

I’m always thinking about my next bead project and always finding inspiration for my jewelry in my everyday life.

Please check out my gallery of works and join me in discovering the wonderful world of beads.

I bought your blue and green flower earrings for a friend's birthday--beautiful; I asked for your card, but she didn't have any. I thought it would be nice to send along with the earrings.
